Private session. 2-player DEgame (prototype), 2-player Cave Troll, 2-player Mage Knight Dungeons.

DEgame (prototype)

Players were Chip, myself. New players to the game were: Chip, myself. I had the first turn.

We spent 6 minutes going over the rules.

Chip and I are developing a dungeon exploration game. It's basically about taking adventurers into an unexplored dungeon, flipping tiles an encountering them as we go.

Game lasted 45 minutes.

Cave Troll

Players were Chip, myself. Chip was a new player to the game. I had the first turn.

We spent 12 minutes going over the rules.

I kicked off a scoring round with no scores early in the game. That gave Chip control over scoring in the game.

I tried spreading myself out, but Chip kept overwhelming valuable rooms I was in. He even followed my dwarf around so that the room it was in wouldn't score. I eventually got him into a room with a thief and knight, locking in that room, but it wasn't enough with all his explorers in place.

Game lasted 21 minutes. Final scores were:

Mage Knight Dungeons

Players were Chip, myself. Chip was a new player to the game. I had the first turn.

We spent 41 minutes going over the rules.

We played a timed game to get a feel for this game. I wanted to try out some new Pyramids miniatures. So we played a 100 point game, with six weak mage spawn tokens. Chip took three heros and I took four.

Mage spawn overwhelmed Chip from getting much done. He was defensive as all the mage spawn were crowding his path. I think the less activations he had was a major drawback. I could move all the mage spawn he moves, and still have an additional activation.

It's fun to play with all the bits, though. I think one starter per person, using two heros per player would be enough for a decent game.
