This is a co-operative exploration game with a horror theme.
Players explore a three story house, drawing a new tile to expand the house when needed. New rooms have events or omens.
Events either help or hurt the players by changing their stats or inventory. Same with omens, but as more come out the better the chance of the haunt starting. When a haunt starts, a player is revealed to be a traitor, and works against the other players.
A haunt is determined by the situation that started it -- there are fifty scenarios that could be played out.
The winner is the survivor of the haunt -- either the traitor or the other players.
I recommend that you download the revised scenario handbooks from Avalon Hill's web site. It will help alleviate some confusion in the rules.
