Quest for the Dragonlords is a dice-rolling war game with a fantasy quest theme.
Players start the game with a certain leader (which defines a unit's type and special abilities) and unit types associated with that leader in many territories, including at least one kingdom, and mines. Three of these units are secretly a king, wizard and decoy. Players start with some money.
Turn order is:
1. Purchase Units
2. Naval Movement
3. Quest Activity
4. Combat
5. Transfer
6. Collect Income
7. Place Reinforcements
A player wins the game by eliminating the other players' kings.
The production value is high, with an effective game board, uniquely molded units for each player, gold-colored rocks for money and a cloth bag to keep them in, heavy cardstock reference cards for each player, light cardstock for quests, and more bits than I care to describe.
